As part of the Roadmap for the Decarbonization of the Plastics Industry (RDIP 2050), a set of practical toolkits has been developed to support companies in the sector in implementing the climate transition.
These toolkits translate the strategic recommendations of RDIP 2050 into concrete guidelines, methodologies, and best practices, supporting organizations in integrating climate action into their strategy, sustainability management and reporting, and developing the skills necessary for a more competitive, resilient, and carbon-neutral industry.
The available toolkits include:
- Toolkit #01 – Decarbonization Roadmap
Supports companies in defining a corporate decarbonization roadmap, including the characterization of greenhouse gas emissions (Scopes 1, 2, and 3), the creation of transition scenarios (Business as Usual and Carbon Neutrality), and the definition of cost-effective trajectories aligned with the decarbonization vectors of RDIP 2050. - Toolkit #02 – Sustainability Report
Provides a framework and key benchmarks for sustainability reporting, addressing the CSRD, the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS), the European Taxonomy, and voluntary standards such as the VSME and the GRI Standards, supporting companies in strengthening transparency, credibility, and ESG management. - Toolkit #03 – Skills Development
Focused on empowering organizations and their employees, this toolkit addresses the integration of decarbonization into corporate strategy, identifying strategic, technical, and organizational skills essential for the effective implementation of the RDIP 2050 recommendations.
📗 The RDIP 2050 toolkits are reference tools for companies, managers, technicians, and other stakeholders, supporting a structured, progressive approach aligned with national and European carbon neutrality goals.
