The Warmup Dinner of the Plastics Summit – Global Event 2025, held on 9 October 2025, brought together over 400 national and international guests, in a moment that both launched the Summit and celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Portuguese Plastics Industry Association (APIP).
During the dinner, the Roadmap for the Decarbonisation of the Plastics Industry (RDIP) was officially presented. The presentation featured Jorge Cristino, Coordinator of the RDIP Strategic Committee, Marta Moreira Marques, Coordinator of the RDIP Scientific Committee, and Hermano Rodrigues, from EY-Parthenon, who outlined the project’s main action areas, challenges and opportunities.
The speakers underscored the importance of collaboration among industry, academia and public entities in achieving decarbonisation goals, and highlighted the RDIP as a strategic tool to guide technological innovation, energy efficiency and circular economy practices in Portugal’s plastics sector. This symbolic occasion reinforced APIP’s commitment to sustainability and climate transition, positioning the Roadmap for the Decarbonisation of the Plastics Industry as one of the main strategic legacies of the Association’s 50th anniversary and a key contribution to a greener future for Portuguese industry.
